The Work Didn’t End at Graduation

Looking back on the posts I’ve shared here over the past year, I can see just how much my time at university shaped not only my work but also the way I think, feel, and create. My final major project, Abandoned, Not Dead, became more than just an assessment submission; it was a culmination of years of learning, questioning, experimenting, and trusting my instincts. From the early stages of anticipation and planning to the intensity of printing, installing, and finally handing everything in, those final months at university were some of the most demanding and rewarding I’ve experienced.

By the time my final hand-in arrived in May 2025, there was a strange mix of relief and uncertainty. Finishing university didn’t feel like a neat ending; it felt like standing at the edge of something new without fully knowing what came next. What I did know, though, was that the process had taught me resilience, patience, and how to listen more carefully to my own creative voice. Those lessons are ones I carry with me long after the deadline dust settled.

Now, as we reach the end of January 2026, I find myself in a very different place, both creatively and personally. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to finally bring this website and blog up to a standard that truly reflects me and my work. I wish I’d been able to do this while I was still at university, but the reality of those final months was chaos: stress, pressure, time constraints, and the constant juggling of responsibilities meant that this space had to be put on hold.

Since graduating back in July 2025, staying down in Cornwall, moving in with my partner, and working what often felt like very silly retail hours, I’ve finally been able to carve out the time and headspace to return to this site with fresh eyes. This revamp feels like reclaiming something I wasn’t ready to hold while everything else was so intense. It’s slower now, more considered, and that feels right.

The photographs you see here are relatively similar to those I shared before, but they’ve been re-sequenced and reshaped into a stronger narrative. The work itself hasn’t changed drastically, but the way it’s presented has, and in doing so, it feels more honest to how these projects were meant to be experienced and not in assessment criteria. I hope you enjoy viewing them just as much as I’ve enjoyed revisiting and rebuilding them.

This blog is no longer just a reflection of my time at university; it’s a living space for what comes next. Keep an eye on this page, as I’ll be sharing monthly blog updates at the end of each month, covering new projects, ongoing ideas, and maybe even a few products along the way.

Thank you for being here; this is definitely the beginning of a new chapter!
